About the vintage school map collection

I need to catalogue my collection of vintage school maps and thought it would be a good idea to do this as a blog. The maps are NOT for sale (sorry!) but by blogging them I hope everyone can enjoy them - the only places on the web I have found similar maps are online shops (many of the maps I have though I can't find anywhere else).

These maps, charts and posters have all been used in UK schools, mainly in geography classrooms. Some are in mint condition and some are well used. They are beautiful maps and should be displayed rather than be folded and stored in cupboards - feel free to 'right click and save as'! There can't be many of these maps around so I am very fortunate to have them.

Over the next 12 months I will be posting photos and the details of three maps every week (or something like that). This should mean that all the items are shared over the year. Many of the maps are old Philips wall hanging maps (including some huge linen ones) and I also have quite a few very well kept Gill's maps and also OS maps from geography exams dating all the way back to the 1940's - these are particularly nice as they are small and centred on well known places.

The first post will be on Sun 30th Dec 2012....
